This Continuous Granny Square Crochet Blanket Pattern is one of the best beginner blankets. As a beginner, if you have been trying to make blankets and they come out wonky, here is your blanket. This one will come out perfectly square.
You can make this blanket for a baby as well as an adult. Use any yarn that you like.
I use a smaller hook than the recommended one to get a thicker blanket.
I loved using the Mandela yarn for a baby blanket as it is light, machine washable, and dryable. It does not split, and do you see how beautiful the colors are. Of course, you could cut and control the colors as you work, but why do that when the blanket is gorgeous with the imperfect squares.

Continue working the pattern in Row 5, increasing the number of dc clusters on each side with each additional row until you reach your desired blanket size.
1. Ch 3. 1 dc in each st around. The corner will have 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of 1st 3 ch.
2. Ch 3. {1 fpdc around next 3 stitches. 1 bpdc around next 3 stitches} around. The corner will receive no special treatment. Just continue working 3 fpdc and 3 bpdc as appropriate. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of 1st 3 ch.
This blanket is the same pattern as the one above. It is made with different yarn. I used the colors as they were presented on the roll and I turned the work after each row in order to have no wrong or right side.

People who crochet for mental health will love this pattern because the stitches make perfect rhythm as you crochet. In addition, the design is easy to remember once you get started, so you can crochet without worrying about doing it right.
